As most of my students will know, when I start beading something new it’s usually experimental; I take great delight in the avenues along which I’m led and even the mistakes I make. You only have to take one look at my designs and it’s easy to see that I love patterns with symmetry and order, however I must say that this time, I actually set out to make something asymmetric – I just fancied it!
The Enchanted Lake incorporates a number of different elements – beaded bead caps, worked in size 15° Charlottes for the pretty briolette crystals, and fluted flowers growing on a leafy stem, draped around the edge of a large, captured crystal ‘lake’.
The unmatched earrings I made to team up with the necklace were fun and quick to make.
