Full of pretty curves, arches and fans, the Art Deco period is a fabulous source of inspiration for me. When fiddling about with a modified stitch I often find the piece I’m working on is spreading out like a fan.
This was exactly what happened on the day of the 3rd Biennial Bead Festival in 2004. We were charged with exploring Frills, Flounces and Fringes for the day.
The golden flounced fan with it’s decadent fringes went home with me that weekend and became a favourite brooch.
